Detailed Itinerary
Pick up from the Hotel at 08:30; we drive with direction to the Sacred Valley. The first visit at the village of Qorao where is possible to take beautiful pictures of the landscapes from a lookout site. Also sometimes a handicraft shopping can be taken.The next stopping is another lookout site, whence Pisaq (Ruins and village) and the Sacred Valley with its impressive snow capped mountains are seen. The route follows to "Pisaq" (village), here exists another handicraft market located at the main square and surroundings. On the other hand Pisaq Ruins stands over the upper part of the hill; its visit is carried out in private tours.The lunch is usually taken in Urubamba or Yucay where the best restaurant services are located. After lunch, passing through the Towns of Calca and Urubamba, we visit the Inca Fortress and Citadel of Ollantaytambo, built to guard the entrance to this part of the Valley, and protect it from possible invasion from the tribes in the Lower jungle. The Fortress consists of a series of stepped carved stone terraces accessed by long staircases. Later on you can walk through the quaint streets of the nearby Town, and get a good idea of what this Strategic Military, Religious, and Agricultural Centre was like during the era of the Inca Empire.At the end of the tour transfer to your Hotel -

- A backpack with a change of clothes for the whole period of the trek
- Rain gear (jacket and pants if available) or rain poncho (plastic ponchos can be purchased in Cusco)
- Strong footwear, waterproof trekking boots recommended
- Sandals or jogging shoes for a higher comfort while at camp
- Warm clothes, including jacket, fleeces. Thermal clothing is also recommended, especially for sleeping
- Flashlight/headlamp and batteries
- Camera, films and batteries (batteries consume more quickly under cold conditions)
- Hat or cap to protect you from the sun, rain and cold, Sun block
- After-sun cream or hydrating cream for face and body
- Insect repellent – minimum recommended 20% DEET – no malaria risk has been reported
- Handkerchiefs and Toilet paper
- Snacks: biscuits, energy bars, chocolate, raw fruits, muesli, etc. Please note that we do provide a daily morning snack and our meal service is very complete and well supplied. Non-disposable canteen (Nalgene type) and water for the first morning. Optionally: water -sterilizing tablets in case you pick up water from streams or rivers along the route. Otherwise, we provide filtered boiled water, which is safe to drink and has not reported any health problem so far
